How can I ask for 3 or 6 month wait period not to pay the credit departments?

I have store departments credit, and I am going through a hard time and I can't seem to pay even the minimum on all of them... How can I suspend or freeze my accounts momentary, until I can catch up, moneywise, and pay by balances. Is there a way I can contact them and request my account to be frozen for a couple of months? Can they even do that? please help.Thanks.
